Enhancing the Employee Experience with a Web 2.0 User Interface (UI) and Social Networking

Your employees and managers are currently using sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google & Wikipedia while they interact and learn on the Internet. Meanwhile your current HR self-service systems are light years away from that kind of functionality, and are seen as archaic and confusing by the people using them.

In this presentation, you will learn:

How to enhance the UI of your portal to make it the equal of the top Internet sites by the use of dynamic and interactive portlets.

How social networking in the workplace can help your employees get their jobs done more effectively.

How controls can be put in place so that HR can easily manage what can be collaborated on and by who

See how this can be wrapped up in an all-encompassing employee experience that is rich in content while also being easy to use.

The reasons why trust in HR’s metrics has eroded

A five step process for developing metrics

Tips for becoming a valued data source for business leaders.

Watch as KeyBank denonstrates their enhanced HR portal for applicants, managers and employees.

How metrics must be tied to outcomes for the purpose of leveraging change

The reasons why trust in HR’s metrics has eroded

A five step process for developing metrics

Tips for becoming a valued data source for business leaders.

Economists appear unanimous — a substantial global economic slowdown looms near. The impact on the workforce will be significant, and in some cases unprecedented; which begs the question: Where can HR apply its focus for maximum effect?

From managing staff reductions to dealing with delays in upgrading technology, HR faces intense challenges in the current crisis. Please join Towers Perrin and IHRIM on February 12, 2009, when we share strategies that may help your HR organization manage through difficult economic times.

We will address a number of top-of-mind issues:

How various HR strategies and structures affect the bottom line?

How to deliver HR services for less cost but still effectively and efficiently?

What are the key HR roles that cannot be compromised?

What are the change management implications?

WHEN: Thursday November, 20, 2008 – 8:00 am – 11:30 am

        8:00 – 8:45 Registration/Breakfast
8:45 – 11:30 Program/Q & A

Our Program

Our very popular Fall Networking Roundtable session returns with an all new approach. It, of course, features the traditional FREE admission to IHRIM members along with a full breakfast buffet. This is a great opportunity to network with your Northeast Ohio friends and colleagues.

The New IHRIM.org:

We begin with an introduction to the new social networking tool under development by IHRIM to allow members to access and share the expertise and experience of HR Information Management professionals around the globe.

Annual Networking Town Hall Meeting: Stump your Peers!

If you had the undivided attention of a room full of Northeast Ohio’s most experienced HR Systems practitioners, what would you ask?

What is your company’s biggest secret for successful project management?

What is your company’s #1 priority for the coming year? Why?

What was the single most successful initiative you implemented this year? Why?

Inspired by the election season, we are trying a whole new approach to this year’s roundtable. We are asking you to bring your three most pressing questions….. and attempt to stump your peers!

If you attended an HR Technology Conference this year, what was the “coolest” thing you saw?

What issue or challenge is vexing you or keeping you up at night?

What challenge is keeping you motivated or “jazzed up” about your job?

Dave Runta of Progressive Insurance will facilitate a town hall-style meeting in which you can address your company’s most pressing questions to the group. Representatives from the Cleveland area’s most forward-thinking HR Systems organizations and vendors will be in attendance

Register early and get started thinking about your questions now.
